360Buy, CMB Introduce Installment Plans

Sohu IT, 1/22/13

Beijing-based B2C e-commerce platform 360Buy and China Merchants Bank introduced a new payment by installment service today, allowing customers to pay for orders in installments using CMB credit cards. CMB offers three installment plans for orders using the service, allowing customers who have enabled online payments with CMB credit cards to pay in sets of three, six, or 12 installments, with per-installment fees ranging from 3% to 6%. Customers will not be able to combine or change their orders after choosing to pay in installments, but will still be able to cancel their orders.

Editor's Note: 360Buy's launch of installment purchase plans comes just over a week after Apple introduced a similar initiative: Apple China Store Offers Zero-interest Installment Plans, MD 1/14/13 issue.
