Rumor: Suning.com Authorized to Sell All Apple Products

Tencent Tech, 3/05/13

China.com.cn recently discovered that Apple will soon authorize Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning (002024.SZ) to sell its products online. According to leaks from Suning insiders, authorization was settled at the beginning of this month and will be implemented by the end of March at the earliest. There is as yet no authorized sale of Apple products online in China; authorization before now was given only for certain product lines, with Suning as the first authorized company. Whether Apple will in the future consider selling products via other platforms is unclear at this time.

When china.com.cn sought confirmation from Suning, spokespeople at Suning were unwilling to comment but did not deny the rumor.
