Huaxia, Seven Stars Partner on TV and Film Exports

Sarft.net, 3/06/13

Chinese firms Huaxia Film Distribution and Seven Stars Film Corporation have jointly announced that they will establish a joint venture, Huaxia-Seven Stars Film (unofficial translation). The new JV will take Mainland China as its base, Hong Kong as its platform, and the world as the target market for its goal of creating Chinese film productions and distributing them domestically and internationally.

After it is officially established, Huaxia-Seven Stars will begin bringing over 100 Chinese films per year - including self-produced titles - to the pay-per-view platforms of the United States' three major cable providers (Time-Warner, Comcast, and CableVision), covering an audience of 110 mln subscriber households throughout the US.

Huaxia-Seven Stars reportedly plans to introduce a nationwide premium cable channel in the US offering Chinese-language films and television series for a monthly subscription.
