China to Draft Terrestrial DTV Receiver Standard

Sarft.net, 4/09/13

Hu Yan, an inspector for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) IT Industry Department, said on April 9 that the Chinese government will research plans to draft a unified standard for terrestrial DTV receivers. Terrestrial DTV receiver equipment will be required to pass a standards-compliance review by nationally accredited inspection and certification organizations before being permitted to display the insignia on the equipment. The MIIT will also call upon related enterprises to further promote DTV through increased high-tech innovation capabilities and improved after-sales services.
