China Telecom to Create Brand for Youth-Targeted Handsets

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) will hold a launch event soon to release a new brand of customized, mobile handsets aimed at younger users. Telecom will categorize all of its customized handsets for young people under this new, as yet unnamed, brand name.
The first handset to be released under the new brand is rumored to be Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei's A199 smartphone.
