Mobile Game Developer Hortor Lands USD 2.5 Mln Funding
Sina Tech, 7/08/13
Beijing Hortor Soft, developer of mobile casual game Fengkuang Caitu, recently landed USD 2.5 mln in first-round funding from Qiming Venture Partners. Qiming stated that the investment was made primarily because of the company's positive outlook as a developer. Cao Xiaogang, CEO of Hortor Soft, said that the company has previously received angel funding from ZhenFund and China Renaissance K2 Ventures.
Fengkuang Caitu allows players to link gamer accounts to Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) Weibo microblog and Tencent (0700.HK) WeChat (Weixin) mobile IM accounts to enlist friends to play with them.
Hortor Soft's latest mobile game, Fengkuang Caige, currently supports WeChat integration only. According to Cao, the company is considering options to monetize both games. Hortor Soft's development team is comprised of 20 employees.
