YiChat Mobile IM Users Reach 1 Mln in First Day of Launch

Chinese online game developer and operator Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) announced yesterday that the company's mobile IM service YiChat ("Yixin") launched jointly with China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) on August 19, reached over 1 mln downloads within 24 hours of release. In the app's first day of release, users created over 20,000 friend groups, uploaded 300,000 photos to their photo walls, sent over 1 mln free SMSs, and left over 400,000 voice messages.
