Chinese online game developer and operator Shanda Games (Nasdaq: GAME) has announced the company's upcoming mobile game offerings for Q1 2014, including mobile card RPG Guardian Cross, mobile card RPG Chain Chronicle, and an updated version of mobile card RPG Million Arthur.
Guardian Cross, similar to Million Arthur, was developed by Japan's Square Enix and will be launched for initial beta testing on January 20. Shanda Games obtained the China operating rights for Chain Chronicle from Sega Corporation in December 2013, and has not announced a date for beta testing.
Shanda Games CEO Zhang Xiangdong has stated that he expects to see mobile game revenue account for more than 50% of total company revenue over the next three years, so long as stable revenue from major company games is maintained. Shanda Games recorded mobile game revenue of RMB 153 mln in Q3 2013, marking a QoQ increase of 53% and accounting for 13.6% of total company revenue.
