LeTV Smartphones Win MIIT Network Access Permits

Tencent Tech, 2/28/15

The website of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) shows that two models of the LeTV X600 handset have been approved for network access. The records indicate that the applicant and manufacturer of the smartphones is Leshi Mobile Intelligent Technology, a smart-hardware subsidiary of Chinese online video and internet TV content provider LeTV (Leshi) (300104.SZ).

Leshi Mobile has already reached deals with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) and other telecom operators, according to a source familiar with the matter. The Leshi Mobile operating system will integrate LeTV's sports, shopping, and video resources through a LeTV platform user account.
