Ping An Insurance Launches Electronic Medical Record Management App

Shenzhen-based Ping An Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of insurance and financial services firm Ping An Insurance (2318.HK; 601318.SH), has released a mobile electronic medical record management app "Suishen Bingli" (literally "Portable Medical Record").

Suishen Bingli partners with hospitals to retrieve medical records, so that if patients visit a different hospital, they can present their case history, explained Ping An Technology vice chairman Rong Guoqiang. The mobile app also allows patients to manually enter information to log their medical records. Another feature of Suishen Bingli is a health information lookup service based on manifesting symptoms.

Suishen Bingli is currently free to use in its trial stage. The app will formally launch in Q3 2016, and has set end-of-year targets of reaching 10 mln users and partnering with several hundred hospitals.
