Jointown Begins OB of Mobile Healthcare Management Platform 'Jiankang 998'

Pharmaceuticals and medical equipment trade company Jointown Pharmaceutical Group (600998.SH) said recently that public beta testing has begun for its mobile healthcare management platform Jiankang 998, operated by Wuhan-based subsidiary Jointown Health Management.
Jiankang 998 operates through a mobile app and a public account on Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app to provide image, voice, and video-based healthcare management services including health consulting, online consultations, appointment booking, patient escorting, cloud medical record storage, online pharmaceuticals sales, and home nursing services.
Jointown Pharmaceutical Group has arranged a pilot project with Beijing-based offline pharmacy operator Haoyaoshi Pharmacy Chain, to allow residents to book a nursing appointment through Jiankang 998. Nursing staff can provide free health record organizing services, medicine usage, and one-hour delivery of drugs to the home. Staff can also provide at-home testing, remote video-based consultation, and traditional physical exam services. The nursing staff program is already operating in partnership with 42 pharmacies in Wuhan, and Jointown plans to expand the program to 3,000 pharmacies within 3 years.
Jiankang 998 has also set up a 500-person healthcare management consulting team including doctors, practicing pharmacists, and nutritionists. Its clinical service resources include nearly 40,000 medical departments at 5,400 hospitals, and it has contracts with physical exam service providers such as Meinian Onehealth Healthcare and iKang Healthcare Group (Nasdaq: KANG). It also has arrangements with local medical institutions in Taiwan, the United States, Germany, Japan, and South Korea to offer custom services and genetic testing overseas.
The Jiankang 998 platform currently serves users in six major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Jinan.
