Tencent, 58.com Partner to Establish Unified House Listings Platform

Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) has announced plans to work with online classifieds site operator 58.com (NYSE: WUBA) to launch Tengcheng Real Estate Platform, a single platform that will bring together the second-hand housing listings from 58.com-operated websites 58.com, Anjuke.com, and Ganji.com, along with some listings for new housing. Reportedly, the two sides have jointly developed a long-term cooperation plan, set up a joint working group, and plan to work together on product development, operations, technology, and marketing, and to explore the possibility of more in-depth cooperation.
On August 2, 2016, Tencent released its real estate open platform strategy, announcing that it would open mass user data, form professional partnerships, and work with 58.com as Tencent's second-hand housing exchange open platform partner. It is reported that 58.com, Anjuke.com and Ganji.com cover more than 80% of the housing brokerage market. Of the three, Anjuke.com has become the largest domestic second-hand housing platform. As of November 2016, installations of Anjuke.com client software exceeded 150 mln, with more than 100 mln unique visitors per month.
