Cainiao Appoints Chen Weiru as CSO

Cainiao Network Technology, the smart logistics company established by Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA), yesterday appointed Chen Weiru as Chief Strategy Officer of the company.

Chen was Associate Professor of Strategy at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), a joint-venture for management education co-founded by the Chinese government and European Union (EU) in 1994, where he taught Industry and Competitive Analysis, Business Model Innovation, and China Strategy to MBA, FMBA, EMBA, and Executive Education participants. He got his Ph.D. in strategic management at Purdue University in the USA, and served as faculty in INSEAD's strategy department before joining CEIBS.
