O2O Car Maintenance and Management Service 'I Am the Owner' Wins RMB 18 Series A

Guangzhou-based Baoyi Information Technology, provider of car owner service platform "I Am the Owner," completed RMB 18 mln in Series A funding this month led by Yitong Investment. Also participating were Xinli Investment and Jiadao Gongcheng Fund. Baoyi Information Technology will reportedly begin a Series B round in November this year, seeking to raise RMB 20 mln. The financing will mainly go toward market expansion and the development of smart vehicle inspection hardware.
According to its official website, "I am the Owner" was established in February 2015 as a platform for custom vehicle maintenance and insurance services. The company released a mobile app in April 2015, and also allows car owners to purchase its services via its official website and a public account on Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app. The platform's services include vehicle paint repair; agent services for handling obligations involving traffic violations, annual inspections, and license renewal; maintenance plans, and vehicle cosmetic work. "I Am the Owner" also provides custom protection plans which cover scenarios such as tire damage, hit-and-runs, and vehicle damage.
