LBS Robot Developer Uditech Secures RMB 8-digit Series B

Shenzhen-based location-based services robot developer Youdi Technology (Uditech) recently announced completion of RMB 8-digit Series B funding led by Yuanyu Runxin Equity Investment Management and Legend Capital. Uditech previously completed angel funding from Chinese IP-based solutions provider UTStarcom (Nasdaq: UTSI) and Series A funding from Towercrest Group and iFlytek (002230.SZ).
Established in March 2013, Uditech specializes in cloud-to-terminal integrated solutions for indoor and outdoor robot positioning and navigation.
Uditech released its first service robot, You Xiaomei, in 2016. The robot uses laser radar for navigation and has internal capabilities for route planning, obstacle avoidance, and elevator navigation. The robot can perform simple repetitive tasks such as guiding building visitors and delivering items in place of traditional service personnel. Uditech said that more than 100 You Xiaomei robots are already in use for offline applications.
Uditech has also developed a smart food delivery vehicle, which features a larger onboard storage space and carrying capacity. The vehicle can move quickly to deliver items in restaurant settings.
Uditech's products also include a universal mobile robot chassis and an outdoor robot. Its outdoor robot has already completed basic testing and it is expected to enter commercial applications in 2018.
