Didi Chuxing Wins Autonomous Vehicle Testing License in California

Chinese taxi booking and car hire service app Didi Chuxing's US-based research institute Didi Labs has secured a license for autonomous driving road tests, according to a list recently released by California's Department of Transportation.
Didi Chuxing established its research center in March 2017. Under the guidance of vice director Gong Fengming, Didi Labs directly took aim at big data security and smart driving at its founding. Research topics have also included cloud security, deep learning, human-computer interaction, and computer vision.
