Beijing-based Lingdian Kongjian Technology, operator of smart coffee vending machine brand Coffee 0.8, completed nearly RMB 100 mln in Series B funding from Kaola Fund in early 2018, according to a recent interview with founder and CEO Wang Shunli.
The three-year-old smart self-service retail coffee brand has placed fully automated fresh grind coffee vending machines in office buildings, universities, hospitals, and public transportation hubs. Consumers select the drink they want to purchase on the machine's screen to enter the online payment step. Coffee 0.8 machines currently cover more than 20 types of drink, including hot coffees, iced coffees, milk tea, black tea, and pu'er tea.
Coffee 0.8's vending machines integrate three major systems: CRM, ERP, and smart management. While providing real-time data sharing, the smart vending machine provides convenient backend safeguards for smart control (i.e. all settings and recipes can be remotely set through the cloud.)
