MIIT, 8/10/18
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently announced new three-year (2018-2020) implementation guidelines aimed at helping enterprises to adopt cloud-based business services. The plan recommends a scientific approach to implementing cloud services including selecting cloud services based on requirements, moving enterprise business processes to the cloud, and upgrading cloud platform service providers' supporting service capabilities. The document also identifies specific work requirements and implementation suggestions for promoting enterprise adoption of cloud services.
The guidelines envision that by 2020, cloud computing will be widely used for enterprise production, operations, and management applications, and that between 2018 and 2020 at least 1 mln new enterprises will adopt cloud-based services.
The guidelines also call for setting up a public service platform to provide services for enterprises, and recommend exploring the use of insurance models to provide assurance for enterprises using cloud services.
