MIIT: China's Mobile Subscriber Base Up 1.8 Mln in September 2020

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released its national telecom industry statistics for the month of September 2020. China's total number of mobile service subscribers increased by 1.77 mln during the period to 1.600 bln.

As of the end of September 2020, China's total number of 4G mobile service subscribers had increased to nearly 1.293 bln, comprising 80.8% of the country's total mobile service subscriber base.
In calculating the figures for change since the end of 2019, the MIIT used its 2019 year-end final accounts data.
In calculating the fixed-line telephone and mobile subscriber penetration rates in the table above, the MIIT used China's 2019 year-end population size.
