China Unicom Updates Plan for Spin-Off of IoV Subsidiary

Telecom operator China Unicom (0762.HK; 600050.SH) has announced an update to its proposed spin-off and separate listing of China Unicom Smart Connection Technology Limited. According to the update, China Unicom has changed the proposed bourse for listing of its Internet of Vehicles subsidiary to the ChiNext Market of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Previously, on May 4, 2023, the company had announced plans to spin off and list Smart Connection Technology on the Science and Technology Innovation Board (the "STAR Market") of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

China Unicom hopes the spin-off and separate listing will help Smart Connection Technology to improve its modern enterprise system, promote innovation and structural optimization, and improve its market-oriented operating mechanisms.
