A spokesperson from Alibaba Group's B2C e-commerce site TMall yesterday said that Tmall will provide merchants with a customizable profile page, customer service, and sales promotions on its "e-commerce housekeeper" service platform. The service will be operational as soon as late May.
The number of store management services on TMall has risen from 100 to 400 since September 2011. There are also close to 1,000 companies who offer profile page design, logistics, software development and other services. Pricing for the merchant homepage with product descriptions starts at RMB 1,880, making it a very lucrative business.
A TMall spokesperson said the "e-commerce housekeeper" service will set new industry standards. Alibaba Financial (aliloan.com) plans to provide loans of up to RMB 3 mln for merchants using "e-commerce housekeeper."
