Baidu, Vtron Ally on AI-based Children's Developmental Assessment Platform
Jiemodui, 9/06/17
Guangdong-based Vtron Group (002308.SZ) recently announced a partnership with Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) to develop an artificial intelligence-based children's developmental assessment platform.
The platform will collect quantifiable data and use dynamic picture and video output to record children's kindergarten activity in real time. This activity will then be analyzed to allow family members to understand the status of their child's development at school.
Vtron Group said that its partnership with Baidu will make use of Baidu's artificial intelligence platform technologies for facial recognition, emotional recognition, and voice recognition, as well as its cloud computing algorithms, cloud storage technologies, smart multimedia platform, and smart big data platform. The partners will apply these technologies to Vtron's children's developmental assessment solutions, with four focus areas:
1. Recording children's kindergarten activity and sharing it with family members through pictures and videos.
2. Quantifying changes in children's height, weight, physical condition, and activity habits.
3. Setting up AI smart cameras in kindergartens to monitor for strange visitors, to protect children.
4. Helping teachers to address issues that arise in the course of class.
