Smart Recycling Machine Developer Xiaohuanggou Wins RMB 1 Bln Series A

Guangdong-based smart recycling platform developer Xiaohuanggou Environmental Technology announced today that it has raised RMB 1.05 bln in Series A funding from Zhongzhi Enterprise Group at a RMB 6.0 bln post-money valuation.

Xiaohuanggou (literally "Little Yellow Dog"), founded in August 2017, places smart unmanned recycling machines in residential communities, office towers, hotels, and downtown districts. Users select the type of material on the machine's interface before throwing it away. The machines accept paper, plastic, metal, cloth, and glass. Users receive a commission deposited to their account based either on weight or number of items deposited.

Xiaohuanggou employs its own team of garbage collectors to bring the recyclables to the appropriate factories for further processing.

The first batch of smart recycling machines have already been placed in Dongguan, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Beijing, and Shenzhen.
