JD.com to Open 1,000 More '7Fresh' Offline Fresh Food Stores Over Next 3-5 Years
Sina Tech, 9/19/18
Chinese B2C e-commerce platform JD.com's (Nasdaq: JD) premium offline food shopping brand, 7Fresh, recently announced its national store opening strategy for a fast expansion. In order to open 1,000 stores over the next 3-5 years, 7Fresh has signed partnership agreements with 16 real estate developers, including Poly Real Estate Group (600048.SH) and China Vanke (2202.HK) and already begun store opening procedures in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu, explained 7Fresh president Wang Xiaosong.
7Fresh will use JD.com's big data analysis and commercial district target-user portraits to precisely locate consumers and select the most appropriate stock from JD.com's vast number of SKUs.
7Fresh stores will contain roughly 20% directly imported goods and 70% fresh foods. About 60% of the fresh foods will be 7Fresh branded. Each store will stock more than 5,000 different SKUs.
