MIIT: China's Mobile Subscriber Base Down 1.6 Mln in November 2025

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released its national telecom industry statistics for the month of November 2025, during which China's total number of mobile phone subscribers fell slightly to approximately 1.828 bln, representing a net decrease of approximately 1.6 mln month-on-month and a net increase of approximately 38.54 mln since the end of 2024. Among this total, China's number of 5G mobile phone subscribers reached 1.193 bln, representing net increases of approximately 9 mln month-on-month and 179 mln since the end of 2024, and comprising 65.3% of China's total mobile phone subscriber base. China's total number of mobile internet subscribers dropped to approximately 1.609 bln, down 7.18 mln month-on-month, but up 39.24 mln since the end of 2024.
China's total number of cellular IOT connections reached approximately 2.900 bln during the month of November, up approximately 10 mln month-on-month and 244 mln since the end of 2024.
During the month of November, China's total number of deployed 5G base stations increased by approximately 72,000 to reach 4.830 mln, comprising 37.4% of the nation's total mobile base stations.
China's total number of wireline broadband accounts reached approximately 697 mln during the month of November, up approximately 0.11 mln month-on-month and 27.12 mln since the end of 2024. Among these, accounts providing speeds of 100 Mbps or faster comprised 664 mln, or 95.2%; and accounts providing speeds of 1,000 Mbps or faster comprised 239 mln, or 34.3%, up 32.52 mln since the end of 2024.
China's total number of internet TV (IPTV and OTT) subscribers reached approximately 415 mln by the end of November, representing net increases of approximately 2.76 mln month-on-month and 7.49 mln since the end of 2024.
