Mobile Ad Firm Announces September Operating Stats

Shanghai-based mobile advertising network operator MadHouse has released its operating statistics for the month of September 2008.

Users of handsets with medium and large screens (176 and 240 pixels), continued to rise, now accounting for 79.3% of phones that were served advertising by Madhouse. In addition, 62% of mobile Internet users were using phones that retailed above RMB 2,000.

Guangdong and Fujian provinces accounted for approximately 50% of all mobile ads served by Madhouse during September, with major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai accounting for less than 5% combined.

The majority of Madhouse's ads served in September were viewed on Nokia and Sony Ericsson handsets – 43% and 11.7%, respectively – followed by Motorola (7.4%), Samsung (5.4%), NEC (3.1%), and others (24.3%).
