Linktone Records Q3 2008 Net Loss of USD 2.3 Mln

Wireless value-added services provider Linktone (Nasdaq: LTON) has announced its unaudited financial results for Q3 2008, with gross revenues reaching USD 20.3 mln, up 53% year-on-year and 6.4% quarter-on-quarter, and net revenues reaching USD 19.67 mln, up 55% year-on-year and 6% quarter-on-quarter.
Net loss for the quarter came to USD 2.32 mln, compared to a net loss of USD 2.79 mln in Q3 2007.
Gross revenue from data-related services was USD 10.2 mln, compared with USD 6.9 mln for Q2 2008. This was broken down by revenue from SMS services (USD 9.5 mln), MMS services (USD 0.2 mln), WAP services (USD 0.3 mln) and Java gaming services (USD 0.2 mln).
Gross Revenue from audio-related services accounted for USD 5.8 mln of total revenues, compared with USD 7.0 mln for the second quarter of 2008. Audio-related revenues included IVR services (USD 3.0 mln) and Color Ring-Back Tone (CRBT) services (USD 2.8 mln).
Advertising service gross revenue accounted for USD 3.7 mln of total revenues in the third quarter of 2008, compared with USD 4.6 mln for the second quarter of 2008.
The company estimates Q4 2008 gross revenue will be approximately USD 16.5 mln to USD 17.5 mln.
