Sohu COO to Resign

Gong Yu, COO of Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU), has confirmed year-end plans to resign from his post at Sohu, citing a desire for a change in responsibilities as his reason for leaving.

In 1999, Gong founded real-estate website focus.cn, which was bought by Sohu in November 2003 for USD 16 mln. After the purchase, Gong became vice president of Sohu.

Editor's Note: Sohu has confirmed Gong's resignation. In addition, Zhang Zhihao, president of Beijing-based mobile search provider Beijing Wuxian Xunqi Information Technology, which operates its service under the brand name Umessage, has stated that Gong will take up the position of president and COO of Wuxian Xunqi.
