Kingsoft Game Card System Hacker Receives 13-Year Jail Term

Beijing No.1 Intermediate People's Court has sentenced Wang Congrong, a 21 year-old Hubei resident, to 13 years in prison for illegally accessing the sales system of online game developer and operator Kingsoft (3888.HK). The court found that Wang stole game point recharge cards from Kingsoft's system worth as much as RMB 890,000, then had accomplices sell the cards on B2C and C2C e-commerce platform Taobao. The court also found Wang's two accomplices Zhu Lin and Chen Weirong guilty, and sentenced them to 11 and 12 years in prison, respectively.
