XFMedia Records USD 251.5 Mln Q4 2008 Net Loss

Chinese media group Xinhua Finance Media (Nasdaq: XFML) has issued its earnings report for Q4 2008, with net revenues reaching USD 49.4 mln, up 2% year-on-year but down 3% quarter-on-quarter. 2008 full-year net revenues rose to USD 186.0 mln an increase of 28% over the 2007 figure.
XFMedia recorded a net loss for the quarter of USD 251.5 mln compared to net income of USD 4.2 mln in Q4 2007. For the full year, the company recorded a net loss of USD 274.9 mln, compared to net income of USD 28.0 mln in 2007.
Fourth quarter net revenues for the company's advertising group were USD 32.9 mln, up 9% YoY and 10% QoQ. Net revenues for the full year were USD 114.2 mln, up 44% from full-year 2007.
Quarterly net revenue for XFMedia's broadcast group was USD 12.5 mln, down 3% YoY and 31% QoQ. Net revenue for the full year was USD 55.3 mln, up 54% from 2007.
Net revenue for the firm's print group for the quarter was USD 4.0 mln, down 26% YoY, but up 34% QoQ. Net revenue for the full year 2008 was USD 16.5 mln, down 17% YoY.
