People's Daily, ChinaVision Launch 3G Mobile TV

People Video, a new JV between People's Daily Online and ChinaVision's (1060.HK) Beijing subsidiary, held a press conference on April 8 in Beijing to announce the company's establishment and the launch of its new mobile TV service, under the tagline "Brilliant People Video, Enjoy 3G Life."
The service combines news programming and resources from the People's Daily with ChinaVision's film, TV, entertainment and celebrity content.
The service is accessible through China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) mobile internet portal, the Monternet, by clicking "Mobile Video" and then selecting "People's Daily Online." Users can also access the service through China Mobile's mobile video client application. China Mobile users are charged no fees on data transfer incurred by watching programming on People Video.
China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) 3G users can access People Video through the "Mobile TV" channel on Unicom's "WO" 3G portal.
