Google China Staff Morale Low as Execs Depart

Beijing Business Today, 4/16/10

A source at Google China has reported that the company's employees have lost morale since the departure of Wang Jin, former VP of Google's China Research Institute. Many Google China employees are in private contact with other companies with better growth potential.

Google has stated that Zhu Huican, founder of Google's Image Search, had not joined rival internet company Tencent (0700.HK) as was previously rumored, but has instead returned to Google's U.S. headquarters.

Editor's Note: For more background on Wang Jin and Zhu Huican's rumored departure, see "Rumor: Google China Senior Executives Join Tencent," MD 4/12/10 issue.
