SARFT Issues 398 Online Audio-Visual Licenses in 2009

China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) Development and Research Center's recently released 2010 China Radio, Film and TV Development Report reveals that 398 websites nationwide acquired Online Audio-Visual Broadcasting Licenses in 2009, including 213 mainstream media outlets.

According to the report, a next-generation broadcasting (NGB) trial network has already begun construction in Shanghai, and trial services were available to 36,000 households as of February 2010.
