China Lists Companies to be Approved for Online Mapping

China's State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (SBSM) has posted its first list of organizations to be approved for online mapping licenses, with 19 organizations re-applying for approval of A-class mapping licenses, and 4 companies to be newly approved. The SBSM's notice said that these organizations would receive online mapping licenses by July at the earliest, barring public objections.
Chinese search engine Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), Sohu's (Nasdaq: SOHU) search engine Sogou, and online map providers MapABC and Mapbar were the four companies to be approved.
The 19 companies that are re-applying include:
