Taobao Sellers Protest Ranking Changes

Sina Tech, 7/13/10

A group of sellers on Chinese B2C and C2C e-commerce site Taobao have gathered in Hangzhou to protest Taobao's recent changes to its search ranking algorithm, while a petition against the changes is currently circulating online. The petition states that top rankings are given to those who pay Taobao the most money, and that the changes are not an "improvement in service" as Taobao had advertised.

Taobao has not yet responded to the protest.
