MediaTek: 2010 TD-SCDMA Chip Shipments to Reach 12 Mln

Ching-Jiang Hsieh, president of Taiwanese semiconductor company MediaTek, said his company shipped 3 mln TD-SCDMA chips in Q1 2010, that shipments for Q2 were slightly lower, and that total TD-SCDMA chip shipments for the year could total 12 mln. Hsieh said China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) could reach its goal of 20 mln TD-SCDMA subscribers this year.
