Beijing Limits Number of Internet Cafés

The Beijing municipal government has issued a public notice requiring the number of internet cafés in the city be limited to under 1,927 and all be operated by internet café chains, as opposed to independently operated. The plan limits the number of internet cafés in the four major central districts as follows: Dongcheng district, 106; Xicheng district, 140; Chaoyang district, 350; and Haidian district, 300.
