SMIC Q2 2010 Profit Reaches USD 98 Mln

Chinese semiconductor firm Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) (NYSE: SMI, 0981.HK) has announced its consolidated results of operations for the three months ended June 30, 2010.

Revenues reached USD 381.14 mln, up 42.5% YoY and up 8.4% QoQ, exceeding quarterly guidance.

Net income for the second quarter was USD 96.29 mln, compared to a net loss of USD 97.91 mln in Q2 2009 and USD 181.69 mln in Q1 2010.

For the third quarter, SMIC expects revenue to see a 4% to 6% increase.
