Blackberry 9630 Receives Chinese Network Access Permit

The Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center at China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has approved a network access permit for the RIM BlackBerry Tour 9630 on August 5. The Tour 9630 supports both CDMA2000 and WCDMA 3G networks.

Li Tong, RIM's director of marketing for the China Region, said that the company would work to bring the BlackBerry Torch 9800 to China as soon as possible, but that no more detailed timetable was currently available.
