LePhone Sales Reach 100K in Under 2 Months

Netease Tech, 8/19/10

Lenovo (0992.HK) CEO Yang Yuanqing has revealed that total LePhone smartphone sales reached 100,000 units as of June 30, half a quarter after its launch. Yang said that following the launch there were component shortage issues, particularly for the Samsung LCD touchscreen, but Lenovo has implemented a solution and the problem should be completely solved by the end of September. Yang added that monthly sales reached approximately 80,000 units, putting Lenovo on target to meet its projected estimate of 1 mln units sold in one year.

Lenovo's China region GM Chen Xudong told Netease Tech that Lenovo's app store will have 1,000 applications within the year, and will gradually add mobile applications in the future that support both existing products such as the LePhone and future tablet PC products.
