Rising Implicated in Beijing PSB Corruption Case

Beijing No.1 Intermediate People's Court recently found Yu Bing, former head of the Beijing Public Security Bureau's online monitoring division, guilty on charges of corruption, graft and abusing the legal system for personal gain. The court sentenced Yu to the death penalty, which could be commuted to a life sentence, based on an assessment of Yu's behavior after he has served an initial two-year prison term.

Yu's case involved over RMB 14 mln in total, including over RMB 10 mln in bribes. Yu was charged with four counts of accepting bribes from internet firms, including over RMB 4.2 mln in bribes from Chinese anti-virus vendor Rising.
