Kingsoft to Sue Qihoo 360

Southern Daily, 9/02/10

Beijing-based antivirus software maker Kingsoft (3888.HK) has brought suit against rival Qihoo 360, alleging unfair competition. A source inside Kingsoft said that - similar to Kingsoft's other suit against Qihoo 360 three months ago - the newest version of Qihoo 360 will block the installation of Kingsoft Internet Security, citing "software incompatibility," thus rendering Kingsoft Internet Security functionally inoperable. The update cannot be uninstalled.

Qihoo 360 also blocks all of Kingsoft's security products from loading at startup as part of what it claims to be "optimizing computer startup."
