Rumor: The9 Licenses Sony MMO Planetside Next

Tony Park, VP of Chinese game developer and operator The9 (Nasdaq: NCTY), reportedly mentioned in an internal memo on September 1 that The9 has already secured the mainland operating rights to PlanetSide Next, according to an industry insider. PlanetSide Next is the sequel to Sony Online Entertainment's 3D FPS MMORPG PlanetSide.

The9 has yet to release an official statement concerning the rumor.
