Rumor: Lenovo to Release LePad Tablet PC in December

Sina Tech, 9/20/10

Lenovo (0992.HK) will officially launch its LePad tablet PC for the China market in December, according to overseas media reports. The LePad will run on Android and sport a 10.1 inch touch screen. Customers can also choose to buy a LePad complete kit that includes a keyboard and docking station.

Lenovo previously released the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid notebook PC, but later shelved the product and retooled it to create the LePad.

Lenovo has yet to reveal details about the docking station, but rumors suggest it may be powered by an Intel processor and possibly run Windows 7, allowing the tablet to become a full-fledged notebook.

The LePad and docking station will be available only on the China market.
