ZTE Releases 3G Tablet with Voice Calling Capability

Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) unveiled a tablet PC, the ZTE Light, at the 2010 P&T/Expo Comm China in Beijing today. ZTE Light has a 7-inch touch screen, weighs 403 grams, and supports dual band voice calls on UMTS 2100 MHz/900 MHz, as well as mobile internet over HSUPA at download speeds reaching 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5.76 Mbps. The tablet features 512 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, and runs Android 2.1, as well as an accelerometer, GPS, Wi-Fi, a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, an external SD slot supporting up to 32 GB, and up to 10 hours of battery life.
