MoC to Release Online Game Inspection Form in H1 2011

Tuo Zuhai, assistant director of the Department of Culture Markets in China's Ministry of Culture (MoC), recently revealed that the Ministry will issue an online game inspection registration form in H1 2011. Each game will be required to submit for inspection according to the "Interim Regulations for Online Game Management." Tuo said that study of the online game virtual items question will begin shortly.

Tuo added that the Ministry will also implement parental controls and age verification for online games this year, actively pursue real-name registration inspections and authorization, and further efforts to implement internet addiction safeguards.

Editor's Note: Sina Tech reports that the Ministry is encouraging online games aimed at minors to shut down at night, and will implement relevant regulations after a period of further observation.
