Rumor: Tianjin to Offer Number Portability This Month

As of midnight, November 22, the municipality of Tianjin will reportedly begin implementing number portability. Hainan, another test site for number portability, still has no specific timetable for when it will begin implementing number portability. The program to be implemented in Tianjin calls for bidirectional portability between China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) and China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) 2G and 3G mobile accounts, and China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) 2G mobile accounts.
