SARFT Approves SMC Internet TV Platform

Zhu Jiang, assistant to the CEO of Chinese online video-on-demand operator Voole, has revealed that Southern Media Corporation's (SMC) internet TV broadcast and control platform has officially been approved by China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT). SMC is the fourth company to be approved to operate an internet TV platform following CCTV's national online TV station CNTV, Shanghai Media Group (SMG), and Hangzhou-based DTV and IPTV operator Wasu Digital Television Media Group.

Zhu added that Voole and SMC have already made arrangements to launch a joint venture.
