SARFT: CMMB Subscribers Reach 10 Mln

Zhang Haitao, deputy director of China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), revealed yesterday that as of the end of the 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-2010), China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) CMMB mobile phone TV service was available in 331 cities across the country, with multiple program services offered and a user base approaching 10 mln.
Zhang added that terrestrial DTV broadcasting in China now covers 308 cities in China, with 16 HDTV channels now on offer.
