Chinese Tech Association to Introduce Multi-screen SDK Standard

DVBCN, 6/28/12

Liang Tiehang, member of the China Smart Multimedia Terminal Technology Association (STA) and CEO of Guangzhou Huan Tech, revealed recently that the STA plans to release SDK standards for multi-display interaction.

At present, Liang said, there are a number of different multi-display interaction standards on the smart TV market, such as DLNA and IGRS, but none has yet offered a unified standard for its developer SDK, a situation that will lead to incompatibility due to fragmentation in different offerings from developers across different smart TV terminals with different feature sets. The STA will step up research efforts in the area of human-machine interactions for smart TVs, which will expand beyond multi-display interaction to include voice, gestural, and remote control interaction.
